About the power plant

Construction of the power station in the land of Eyvík and Kvíslarhólar in Tjörnes began May 1, 2012.

The electricity generation formally began on July 10 2013 and the installed power of the power plant is 2.8 MW.

The intake reservoir is 0.8 ha and the dam itself about 120 meters broad.

The length of the pipe is about 2.8 km and the drop height is about 176 meters.
